[ it's as close as Hux has ever let him be, save for that initial time - their copulation that first time, but Bodhi hadn't known who he was sleeping with just as Hux hasn't... to be here, here and now, months later with his hand over a tiny fluttering of movement coming from within him.
Something indescribable twists in his chest. The fact that this was never something that would've been possible before, and the fact that he had it with ... someone who would've murdered him, months ago.
Sometimes he can't believe that this isn't all some vivid dream, product of one too many slices of pizza before bed.
He drops his hand from the swell, but stares down at it, not likely going to forget that feeling. ]
Huh. I didn't think it started till later on.
[ He'd done a bit of reading on the subject, sure but reading it on a page and it happening for real were two different thing. ]
[Hux was quiet as Bodhi had his hand on his stomach, trying not to think about how emotional he was feeling. Things were so much easier when he would just try to murder the pilot but he wasn't sure if it was the hormones or something else that made him not even attempt anything.
Instead, he was finding himself wondering what this child would be like. A child of the FIrst Order and the Rebellion- it would be interesting to see how that turned out.]
I didn't either, but that was definitely not indigestion.
[He had plenty of that to know what it felt like. He looked at Bodhi move his and away, not sure what to say for a moment. What could he say? Hux wasn't inclined to murder him but that moment between them hadn't been awful. He cleared his throat.]
I should have something more for breakfast. Maybe eggs.
[ it actually was simpler back then, but back then Bodhi wouldn't have come fifty feet within Hux willingly. Now they were sitting in his kitchen, eating breakfast and talking about a baby.
This wasn't the worst, which in itself was a surprise.
(Maybe this would be okay). Unbidden, that thought takes him by surprise. They'd spent so much of their time together miserable and upset over the course of the last few months that it barely occurred to Bodhi that it might be possible.
Could it? ]
Hmmm.
[ Bodhi pushes his untouched plate of eggs in front of Hux and moves back to the stove make himself more. ]
[Hux nearly opened his mouth to thank Bodhi, not sure where that urge came from but he nodded his thanks as he picked up a fork. He wasn't sure why Bodhi was always so willing to do small things like this for him. He was capable of making eggs by himself but Bodhi hadn't hesitated to give him his own plate.
Now that food was in front of him he was starving, watching Bodhi make himself more eggs as he ate. It wasn't long before he polished them off, debating if he wanted to chance coffee or settle for tea.]
I'm thinking we should do something like pizza for dinner.
[It wasn't an order this time. He didn't cook and even though the doctor had ordered him to stick to a healthy diet, he figured that there was no harm in deviating from that for one night.]
